Dog Friendly Inn from Deb Collins at Happymestuff.com

Like many dog-lovers who treat their dog as one of the family, Deb is always on the look-out for special places that offer 5-star amenities for my family and our furry child. She stopped in at Inn By the Sea on a sunny September afternoon to get some 4-paw feedback. She missed meeting two Newfoundland dog guests who had just checked out and some of the other 4-paw guests were in their rooms resting up for happy hour but she did get to meet a quintessential dog-loving family – the Smiths.

Nine years ago, when the Smith family from Ottawa, Canada were looking for somewhere dog friendly to vacation with their Chocolate Labrador, Molly, they discovered Inn By the Sea in Cape Elizabeth, Maine. Paul and Kristine fell in love with Inn by the Sea with it’s stunning setting on the dunes of Crescent Beach, amazing grounds and genuine dog-loving attitude. On their first visit in 2003, Kristine was pregnant with now 8 year old Grace and that began what has been a tail-wagging annual tradition ever since. On this year’s September visit, sadly their dog Molly is no longer with them but a new 18 month old Chocolate Labrador family member, Adrienne, is with them to enjoy the 4-paw action at Inn By The Sea.

The sophisticated nature of Inn By the Sea attracts dog-loving owners whose well mannered dogs have learned the art of appropriately hob-nobbing with other two and four-legged guests. Deb and her husband I have it on their bucket list to stay at Inn By the Sea with our happyME dog soon; Ted a.k.a Wag is just fine-tuning his manners.

You can find out more happy Maine stuff at happymestuff.com or on happyME’s facebook page where you can share your dog’s happy adventures.
